Hi everyone,
I would like to request changing the ownership of the bluefield-gadget
and bluefield-kernel
snaps on the snap store from myself tai271828
to Canonical. The snap is developed and maintained by the PE and the kernel team at Canonical.
Please also ensure the snaps are shared with (or ensure I can still add/manage collaborators later on):
Thanks!

Additional context:
Regarding no stable-channel release, I consulted this post and my reasoning is quite similar: the snaps have not yet been a Generally Available solution. They are proof of concept that will be used as demonstration for Canonical’s partners. Releasing to stable channel will be certainly making people confused, although I am happy to release a 0.1/stable alternatively.
Please let me or my manager Alex know which approach you refer and which policy we should follow. We are happy to! Thank you!
Progress update:
- I found that I can invite collaborators for both
bluefield-gadget
and bluefield-kernel
snaps on the store. I shoot some collaborators the collaboration invites. The invites are pending to be accepted. I believe this will help to prevent bus-one factor when I leave Canonical.
- The first version of both snaps was published after the review of the security team.
That’s to say, the last step seems to transfer the ownership to Canonical. May someone mind telling me if I am following the right procedure to achieve the transfer? Thank you!
Hi, Tai! Thanks for your request.
Please note that for transferring snap to Canonical account we need to be sure that it’s properly maintained and looks good, basically we need the following:
- stable version
- valid and detailed metadata(description, license, etc)
- icon
Please ensure that you invite at least one of your colleagues before you leave the company. Transferring the package to the Canonical publisher is not required.
Good luck!
Hi @drednout , thanks for the tips.
Per stable version, do you mind checking the reasoning described in this comment of mine?
There have been more than one collaborators. Thanks for the heads-up!
