Hi,
We kindly ask for automatic-connection for “bluez”, “joystick”, “removable-media” and “system-packages-doc” for vivaldi, similarly to the request Brave made and was granted previously
In addition Chromium (on which Vivaldi is based) has all of these auto connects.
For more clarity on each one
- bluez: so that wireless periperals work out of the box
- joystick: We have a built in Vivaldi game
vivaldi://game
(though it would obviously also be useful for other online games as well) - removable-media: to allow people to save their downloads on external hard drives
- system-packages-doc: To open and view the host’s HTML system documentation.
It is worth noting that we have two futher outstanding automatic-connection requests and perhaps it might be worth dealing with all of them at the same time
- automatic-connection for u2f-devices and hardware-observe: This is important as many people use Yubikeys (and the like) to login to websites.
- automatic-connection for dot-local-share-applications and dot-local-share-icons: For creating the required files when PWAs (progressive web apps are made)
In summary for the full list of auto-connects we are requesting (in line with other browsers) are: bluez, dot-local-share-applications, dot-local-share-icons, hardware-observe, joystick, removable-media, system-packages-doc, u2f-devices
This is our snapcraft.yaml
Thank you,
Ruarí from Team Vivaldi
