Update my username

Hello,

I logged in recently on snapcraft.io using my Ubuntu one account, this pulled in the username.

I updated my username after that, on Ubuntu one, it’s fine there but this did not reflect on snapcraft io as you can see on https://snapcraft.io/publisher/login-ubuntu-com-clever596 which is my random username.

I tried to update my full name, it worked fine but the username never got updated. I’ve been told on Matrix chat that making a request here would help :slight_smile:

I don’t think roadmr is still on the @store team so I’ll ping them for you instead (with this post)

Here is an example of it messing up previously for myself, and my request that it be fixed for future users like yourself. It seems that the fixing has not been done and I’m sorry that you got stung by it. We really need the store team to get this locked-in properly to allow all name changes in the future to not cause such headaches.

Hi! Sorry for the delay on this.

@rapenne-s I believe this issue is slightly different from Lucy’s previous issue as it seems that your username on the Snapcraft backend is still login-ubuntu-com-clever596 everywhere, instead of being partially updated. I’ve now reindexed your snap so the data at least makes sense on the backend. Unfortunately it looks like the frontend is still using the old data, presumably due to caching. If this isn’t fixed by tomorrow then I will contact the Web team to see if the issue lies on their end.

Hello, Thank you very much for taking a look at it. I can confirm that the username is the last one on https://snapcraft.io/admin/account but on the snap I published it’s still the old username :slight_smile:

Looks like the data wasn’t properly synced between all our backend services; I’ve ran another sync job and I now see your current username on peergos (both the web frontend and the output of snap info peergos). I’ll file a bug internally to fix this sync issue in the future, and write some docs in our support playbook so fixing the issue manually will be quicker.

Please let us know if anything else seems out of place!
