Did you try filing an issue ? there is a link on the page to the upstream code and issue tracker …

There is nothing wrong with git-repo itself, the problem is this is an broken version from 2017 and the package has been abandoned.

Ah, it’s been mentioned before here also… Git-repo is old (2017) and not working
