@elcste many thanks for the link - lets hope it gets fixed soon. Presumably debian have managed to find a way around the problem…
Per comment 20 the release tarball has been available since 2022-07-09 and other distros have released updates. The delay is concerning as the release addressed multiple security issues including a 0-day with an active exploit, CVE-2022-2294. https://ubuntu.com/security/CVE-2022-2294
The amd64 build just finished
and I see 103.0.5060.114 in the candidate channel now
(Personally I’m waiting for latest beta build: https://launchpad.net/~chromium-team/+snap/chromium-snap-from-source-beta/+build/1824249)
https://snapcraft.io/chromium now shows
Good to see - I didn’t know about that build tracker. I see a build of the same version completed on the 15th - is that a normal lead time from build completion to release?
No, I’m not sure what that was about. I often follow the beta builds and usually they arrive within a day or two at the most. @oSoMoN (and now @nteodosio?) is the one who works on this I believe.
Has there been another problem with Chromium-105.0.5195.125?
It was released on 13-September but only Debian and Arch have released Linux versions…
Will there be a Snap version??
Thank you for noting, I’ve let it slip, sorry!
It’s now building; Assuming it goes smoothly it will be available in the candidate channel in some hours for x86 and in a day or two for ARM.
Many thanks…
106.0.5249.61 was released 27-Sep …
And first to the beta channel on 26 Sep, and now beta 107.0.5304.18 was released yesterday
Edit: they’re building
Ah, thanks as always, but please use @nteodosio or I won’t see your (very welcome) pings timely, if at all.
I had introduced a bug in my release notification script, but a week without a Chromium release being as rare as hen’s teeth I grew suspicious and checked it earlier today anyway :p.
If you need a fail-safe, I follow the Chrome Releases blog desktop category using this atom feed.
Thanks @elcste!
I’m getting notifications for those, but fun-fact: The Chromium tarball is only available after some time (hours?) of each release announcement.
Stable channel has been updated to 106.0.5249.119 (yesterday)
Beta channel has been updated to 107.0.5304.36 (just now)
(Just to be clear, I’m just sharing these because I follow it anyway. Not trying to badger you or anyone! Tell me to stop if you want )
They are now building.
Totally fine by me — thanks for the pings — but maybe folks will get angry with us by bumping the post every couple of days :P.
You could instead ping me at IRC or send me mail if you like.
