Hi,
I’m requesting classic confinement approval for my snap shiftide.
Snap name: shiftide
Publisher: Scalovate Systems Solutions
Website: https://www.scalovate.com
Snap Website: https://www.shiftide.com
Why classic confinement is required:
ShiftIDE is an AI-powered code editor and terminal emulator built
with Electron. Classic confinement is necessary because:
- It needs unrestricted filesystem access to open and edit files
anywhere on the user’s system.
- It runs a terminal emulator that executes arbitrary shell commands.
- It integrates with system tools like git, node, python, compilers.
- Strict confinement would break core IDE functionality.
This follows the same pattern as VS Code, Zed, and other Electron
IDEs on the Snap Store.
We are Canonical Partners in Qatar and aspiring ISV for Canonical. We would like to make our products available for all Ubuntu users world-wide.
Thank you.

hey @Scalovate ,
few followup questions:
- Can you share the upstream repo?
- Can you share the upstream snapcraft.yaml link?
- Can you tell us which of the categories it fits into, according to you, from Process for reviewing classic confinement snaps ?
Happy to share, but as the project is not opensource, please share email ID, i can give access to private repo and yaml

Hey @Scalovate
since it is private, in order to proceed with this request, the publisher needs to be vetted. Given that the upstream repository is private, the only option to move forward is for you to complete the Verified accounts process.
Thank you, as instructed, I have applied fo Verified Accounts, looking forward to getting started posrt approvals.
thanks, keep us posted once done
Will work on this request once it is granted by @policy-reviewers
