At least three snaps have weird “window control buttons”.
Two, slack and bitwarden, have the control buttons on the left side. One, “beekeeper” seems to use a totally different style for them alltogether. I am using vanilla Ubuntu, no weird configurations, or themes, just normal Gnome, which has these window controls on the right and usually styled consistently.
I’ve filed a bug report against bitwarden, but they have a hard time reproducing it.
- Why do I see such issues occurring in snaps far more often than previously in "deb"s?
- Is this caused by snap in general, by my snap setup (e.g. existence of base snaps) or by the person building the snap?
- Is there somewhere I can point the software developers to so they can fix this?
As we can imagine, a development team like that of Bitwarden or Slack has such “snap specific issues” very low on their list. Resulting in a lot of small, inconveniences but added up, in a very poor experience for both me, the user and for the snap-provider as they must learn details of the snap procedures in order to even reproduce these issues.
