Why snapcraft issues are on Launchpad and not on GitHub?

The snapcraft project is hosted on GitHub but it doesn’t have an issues page. Instead, it links to reporting on LaunchPad.

Using GitHub issues is much more user friendly and many more people already have an account there.

Is there any compelling reason for keeping using LaunchPad instead of GitHub, given that the rest of the project is there?

launchpad supports to have multiple bug tasks on the same bug, that way it is possible to have ubuntu package bugs alingned with snapcraft upstream bugs … it simply makes developer lifes a lot easier if you have cross-project bugs to handle (i.e. a bug initially being a snapcraft bug might have bits broken by a wrong snapd feature or through a deb it uses to build)
