Vs code makes shell crash

hi there,

I’m seeing that when launching vs code the whole shell crashes (wayland), I’m using 18.04. Is anyone having this issue? Snap apps should not crash the whole shell right?

here my syslog for reference:
https://pastebin.com/rc1gtvgf

I have exactly the same behavior with slack snap.
Shell crash when using Wayland with the same log: xawayland segfault.

I’m using 18.04.

It’s very annoying because slack deb can’t be installed anymore (libcurl4 instead of 3 requested).

reported bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snappy/+bug/1760252

@Wimpress would be the person to ask about this one, assuming this only affects some Electron snaps?

Could you please also grab the tracking and install lines of snap info affectedapp, snap version, and snap info core?

E.g.

I am wondering if I can help out here with troubleshooting and whatnot. I am also confined by the slack deb vs snap because the deb needs libcurl3 instead of libcurl4. also on 18.04
