I just downloaded and installed Wickr Pro from snap store installation.
Once the installation has been done, i open the app but it’s not launched.
And i’m also debug through terminal, it say like following below :
haris@ThinkPad:~$ wickrpro

I’m using Ubuntu Mate 20.04.
Anyone can help this issue?
Thank you very much.
in such requests you should always include the full output of snap version so people helping you can see the versions of all involved bits on your system …
Just chiming in to say I also can no longer open WickrMe since the most recent update. When I first noticed this, changing back to the Beta and/or Candidate versions fixed the issue. But now these don’t open either. Opening from the menu results in absolutely nothing. Opening from terminal I also get the error
Illegal instruction (core dumped)
snap 2.49.2
snapd 2.49.2

linuxmint 20.1

I’m seeing the same issue with both Wickrme and Wickrpro

Snap Version snap 2.49.2 snapd 2.49.2 series 16 ubuntu 20.10 kernel 5.8.0-50-generic
I tried to replicate the problem both with Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Xubuntu 20.04, both with me and pro snaps, and I’ve not been able to do so. I see the same errors as you do, except the illegal instruction (core dump) part.
Is there anything else in your setup worth taking into consideration that might help replicate this?
Have you manually enabled/disabled any of the snap connections?
Could you share your journal, system log and/or dmesg messages?
starts fine for me on 20.04 here … it throws a bunch of messages but then the UI appears and asks me to create an account:

Hi,
The two ways I have tried to install wickrme are via the snap store and the command line both produce the same result
Via the snap store there has been discussion in other forums advising users to ensure all permissions are granted - though “Access to low level network settings” and “access to network manager…” won’t set.
I only know “sudo snap install wickrme”, “sudo snap remove wickrme” and “snap run wickrme” from the command line so doing things with connections is above my knowledge.
I can share DMESG and system log but don’t know how to get to journal.
If you’d like me send the full logs, I’d need a way of doing that.
This is a clean ‘normal’ installation. It was ubuntu 20.04 downloaded from ubuntu onto a USB stick, installed on a USB disk and run from there.
The system is a core i3 processor with 4GB RAM
Other snaps are: as follows though I only installed GIMP, Blender, Remima and Wickrme-

By the way, there was a version of wickrme that was available as the candidate in March that worked fine - maybe there’s some subtle change between that version and the current one?
New users are limited to 3 posts in a topic which is very helpful !
Does this help as an answer to the below question?
To me, it looks like a change in one of the libraries, which might cause the crash. I’ll do some more testing, but out of curiosity, what version of libmnl0 do you have on your system?
I just came here to say that I do experience the same issue out of a sudden. This is not a new issue by the way as I have encountered it a couple of times before. I am on Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS and the issue keeps popping up here and there. I have a working one in VM (same version though, which is 518), and despite moving that to ~/snap, the issue persists: “Illegal instruction (core dumped)”. I am using a clean Ubuntu install.
Why did you stop distributing the .deb file? Everything worked fine with that on any system as I could just “ar x”, then “tar xvf data.tar.gz” it. Sigh.
One may guess that one of the main developers wickr nick is the same as wickr package owner. Clearly he does not read this forum, should we start pestering him?
Until their QA manages to test on a hardware platform other then bleeding edge just keep using the previous snap that works.
sudo snap refresh wickrme --channel latest/candidate will fetch wickrme_477 which does not exhibit core dump.
PS. apologize for my harsh language, I like wickr very much but hate their virtually useless Linux support and even more their release mechanism.
