Ubuntu 21.04 big snap off problems

well to make a long story short i updated to 21.04 and a bunch of programs stopped working i went to the Ubuntu forem and was told there that snap was discontinued in there newest update i had to uninstall all of the apps that use snap and install the none snap versions this worked ok but it was not fun you know.

im just trying to figure out whats going on im not going to update any of my other computers until i get this figured out can i reinstall snap after i update or is snap dead on the latest distros of ubuntu

It would appear you’ve been misinformed. Snaps are working fine on 21.04 (and 21.10 devel). They have not been discontinued.

None of the systems I’ve updated have had the problem you describe. Without more detail it is hard to say what happened to your system.

they said it has something to do with new graphics accelerator drivers i dont know that much honestly here is the thread

i will try updating another computer when i get home and see what happens
