Trouble installing Homebridge

Hi. New to the forum so forgive me if ahead for any breaches in established protocols. I’ve recently installed openSUSE tumbleweed and getting used to all that is new in this distro compared to some experience in Ubuntu. Trying to install Homebridge as per online instructions (https://snapcraft.io/install/homebridge/opensuse) where I have essentially replicated the advice given but at the step following “sudo systemctl enable snapd” I get the following message and cannot proceed - “error: cannot communicate with server: Post http://localhost/v2/snaps/homebridge: dial unix /run/snapd.socket: connect: connection refused”. Any advice would be appreciated.

did you call all the systemctl commands from the instructions ? did an of them return an error ?
