I do not own smplayer name it is already registered so I can not build this from build.snapcraft.io though I did testing on this snap via local cleanbuild and it works fine it can play audio/video files without any problem during my testing on ubuntu 16.04 with Nvidia Proprietary drivers.

The usual transfer operation changes ownership of an existing snap from one developer to another. However, there is no existing smplayer snap, so I can’t process this request as is.
Since you have an existing github repo, I think you could ask someone from the snapcrafters team to take that, register the smplayer name and do the upload, avoiding the need for a snap name transfer.
