Hello,
Earlier this month, I reached out to @alexmurray regarding some of the snaps that they maintain on the snap-store. These snaps are important to Canonical and I requested Alex if the ownership of these could be transferred. Alex has kindly agreed to this request, also mentioning that they expect these snaps to be kept updated.
Could you please transfer the following snaps owned by Alex to me? We could seek another confirmation from Alex on this thread.
Snaps:
Old owner: Alex Murray (@alexmurray) - murray.alex@gmail.com
New owner: Pushkar Kulkarni (@pushkarnk) - pushkar.kulkarni@canonical.com
Also, would it be possible to move these snaps to the Canonical org during the transfer?
Thank you,
Pushkar
Hi, do you want to transfer the ownership to Canonical or yourself?
Also can you please ask @alexmurray to add you as a collaborator for the snaps and then we can complete the ownership transfer.
Thanks!
Hi @adityagoel28
Thanks for the quick response.
We want the snaps to be transferred to the Canonical account. Additionally, I also want to be able to make uploads to the snaps. I’ll send a request to Alex to add me as a collaborator.
Thanks for the response.
As a general rule, snaps owned by Canonical should have the appropriate metadata filled out and also have at least one stable-channel release and have proper maintenance. This is particularly important as they will be linked with Canonical’s name and failing to do so may create the impression of incomplete/experimental software which is not what we want to convey from our maintained snaps.
I see that all the 3 snaps have a release on a stable-channel, so that’s good.
Can you pls complete the below:
- Add license for
typescript-language-server
and proper description and summary.
- Update icon for
gopls
and YAML Language Server
snap if possible.
Please let me know once you this is done and I’ll complete the transfer
FYI I have added @pushkarnk as a collaborator on the snaps - feel free to make the changes as suggested by @adityagoel28
