Thunderbird: No select File dialog

When I am asked to select a File in Thunderbird, there is no file selection dialog. Like no popup opens.
I am using nemo as my file-browser.

Hey, do you have xdg-desktop-portal-gtk installed? Could be https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1902915

I did not, but it didn’t make a difference. I’m on awesome as my wm.

I’m facing the same issue under 128.10.0 version of Thunderbird (WSL). Already tried changing versions up to beta and the file chooser is nowhere to be seen, which makes attatching a local file to an e-mail impossible.
