"Taking over" a snap in the store when original maintainer does not answer

The whipper snap has not seen any new releases for almost 3 years.

I tried to contact the snap owner several times through their e-mail address but never got any feedback.

If I want to become the new maintainer, is there a formal process to “take over” this snap?

I believe simply filing a takeover request here like you’ve done here is enough to establish the process, though I believe there’s no formal process on how to do so ATM.
