Hello Snapcrafters,
I have a weird behavior where system is reporting process exiting/ configuration file access error of a snap that has been removed. Here is a sample of journalctl output :
Oct 26 12:45:46 mypc simple-openvpn-client.vpn-daemon[200934]: Use --help for more information.
Oct 26 12:45:46 mypc systemd[1]: snap.simple-openvpn-client.vpn-daemon.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE
Oct 26 12:45:46 mypc systemd[1]: snap.simple-openvpn-client.vpn-daemon.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.
Oct 26 12:45:52 mypc systemd[1]: snap.simple-openvpn-client.vpn-daemon.service: Scheduled restart job, restart counter is at 4909.
Oct 26 12:45:52 mypc systemd[1]: Stopped snap.simple-openvpn-client.vpn-daemon.service - Service for snap application simple-openvpn-client.vpn-daemon.
Oct 26 12:45:52 mypc systemd[1]: Started snap.simple-openvpn-client.vpn-daemon.service - Service for snap application simple-openvpn-client.vpn-daemon.
Oct 26 12:45:52 mypc simple-openvpn-client.vpn-daemon[200962]: Options error: In [CMD-LINE]:1: Error opening configuration file: /var/snap/simple-openvpn-client/common/client.ovpn
Oct 26 12:45:52 mypc simple-openvpn-client.vpn-daemon[200962]: Use --help for more information.
Oct 26 12:45:52 mypc systemd[1]: snap.simple-openvpn-client.vpn-daemon.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE
Oct 26 12:45:52 mypc systemd[1]: snap.simple-openvpn-client.vpn-daemon.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.
Which is strange here is this snap doesn’t exist anymore
mypc:~$ snap list | grep -i vpn
mypc:~$
and the only existing vpn is the one I have pre-installed with Gnome network manager
mypc:~$ systemctl | grep -i vpn openvpn.service loaded active exited OpenVPN service
A reboot doesn’t change anything it is still report the same error ( flooding journalctl by the way )
I have tested to re-install and remove --purge the snap but it is still logging in journactl.
Any help to understand why Systemd or maybe snapd still seeing this non-existing app.
Any help much appreciated
