Some snaps aren't found via searching, though they are in store!

Why is this? I noticed that for example the Lutris snap (https://snapcraft.io/lutris) cannot be found using the search bar in the Snap Store for “lutris”. Only gives:

“We’ve found 1 snaps OpenNox Publisher: Denys Smirnov”.

Why is this?

I think it’s because that snap only has beta and edge channels and not a stable channel. It does show up with snap info lutris.

It’s also possible that the “Visibility” setting for that snap has been set as “Unlisted” which results in “Does not appear in search results. Anyone can visit or install using its snap name”.

Hmm, now the Lutris Snap’s GitHub states suddenly “This repository has been archived by the owner on Aug 16, 2023. It is now read-only.”

I wonder what is going on with this.

Hey there, i have temporarily stalled the work on lutris due to sundry reasons, i will re-start this later, P.S. FYI Snapping Lutris Will be a difficult task given it was not designed to be sand-box friendly, even the flatpak variant uses several high-privileged access to get it working and this ballad stretches even longer, sadly :slightly_frowning_face:

Thanks for replying and letting us know! Maybe indicate this resume of the project on GitHub? I was in the know that snapping Lutris would be more suitable than flatpaking because in snap the sandbox is not that completely strict (or maybe i’m completely wrong).

I have resumed the project at --> https://launchpad.net/lutris-snap

P.S. Snap Sand-Box Is more strict than flatpak ones. To Better Understand ;

Snapcraft classic --> flatpak --> snapcraft confined
