OK, I’m no snap expert but I’ve used it to install a coupe of programs, the troublemaker being onlyoffice. I’ve had snapd installed for some time but in just the last few days I find continuously high processor usage in the 35 -70% area more or less. The usage didn’t show up in the system monitor list but it does show in the CPU resources panel. A browse through the ‘ps aux’ panel identified snapd and onlyoffice as the culprits. All snap, snapd and onlyoffice were removed, problem gone. Two questions arise: is there a known issue with onlyoffice and why would snapd start using a ridiculous amount of processor resources over the last two days where there was no issue before that?
Thanks for the reply. I’ve browsed quickly through the bug report but I need to hunt down some information. I might be able to find the version and maybe some output in the logs but I was in the middle of some compilations of some other stuff at the time I noticed the slowdown. The issue wasn’t displayed in the system monitor but was prominent in the ps panel. I got paranoid that something bad was about to happen and so I just purged everything involved so I could finish what I was doing. If I find some relevant info I’ll post it.
Thanks,
tjm
