The one I filed: #1971157

slack 3.4.0 doesn’t work too.

Please also considering to add fcitx (input method framework) support.

Thanks a lot

Having the same issue on Xubuntu 19.04.
How is this still not fixed a year and a half later (first reported in March '18)?

The Slack snap is maintained by the Slack developers themselves, so there is not much we can do except ask them to fix it.

Just to make sure; can you install the mattermost-desktop snap and see if the CJKV text input is supported there? And what about the gnome-logs and the chromium snap?

Understood, although I’m not sure where else we can report Slack snap bugs.

Here are my results on Xubuntu 19.04:
mattermost-desktop 4.2.3: works fine.
gnome-logs 3.34.0: does work after typing an ASCII character in the search box first.
chromium 77.0.3865.120: works fine.

Great, thanks for checking this out. This implies that it’s not a snap/snapcraft bug, simply a bug in the Slack snap itself.

The Slack snap has a contact url you should be able to use to report this to them.

I can use input method in chromium snap

Please simply remove the sanpcraft version Slack, and install the deb version. I just solved the problem by re-installing a deb version.

https://snapcraft.io/codium also.

I know, but the problem has not been solved.
