Slack and Zoom won't Open

rev 57 in the edge channel has libqt5waylandclient5 added, lets see if this is enough …

this happen with my qt apps when i run them on wayland session. have you tried the app in x11 session ??
the problem here is :
Fontconfig warning: FcPattern object weight does not accept value [40 210) Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I fixed this by staging platform-plugins of my qt install.

the latest zoom-client snap should now run on top of wayland (it does inside a qemu 20.04 wayland session for me at least)…

still no success on manjaro.

I have a problem with zoom too. App was installed with snap. Zoom application doesn’t appear after starting. Slack is working well.

OS: KDE neon User Edition 5.18 x86_64
Kernel: 4.15.0-99-generic

Btw, I don’t have .zoom dir inside /snap/zoom-client/current/
Any ideas?

Here are some logs from dmesg.

which zoom version exactly is this ? (snap info zoom) i am keeping an older version in the beta channel, could you try switching to it to see if the former version works any better ?

the denials for lib32 and lib64 dirs are normal, you can ignore them.

also … are you running wayland, what graphics hardware do you have ?

because it is ~/snap/zoom-client/current/.zomm (mind the tilde in front  )

I just have reinstalled application from stable to candidate (same as beta) - the problem is still here.

hmm, that looks like another issue with fontconfig …

you could try regenerating the font cache, this seems to have helped for some people in other similar situations … not sure it does here though but perhaps worth a try:

sudo rm /var/cache/fontconfig/*
rm ~/.cache/fontconfig/*
fc-cache -r

Thank you. It’s work.

zoom working fine after the updates. But slack didn’t running or showing anything. Tried removing and adding fontconfig also.

zoom uses its own font cache now, generated at snap install, so this should not show up anymore even if it regresses for other snaps …

Hi, zoom client doesn’t start whit latest version (5.0.413237.0524 date 30-05-2020), if i refresh to the latest/candidate channel it works (5.0.399860.0429 2020-05-12)
The logs show

there is just a new version building that should land in the edge channel soon (try in about 30min), please test with that one, if it hellps i’ll move it to stable …

For reference, I had filed this problem as issue #30, and I can confirm that revision 84 fixes it for me.

Hi,
Yeah, the edge channel resolve the problem. Thanks!

Bruh, help me. I am using Ubuntu 20.04.1 with GNOME 3.36.3 with Wayland but still, I am getting this warning message:
Screenshot%20from%202020-08-30%2009-58-17

What to do?

This seems to be a completely different issue from the rest of this thread. Can you create a new thread for this? Thanks!

is the issue with slack solved?
i followed the instructions on https://snapcraft.io/install/slack/manjaro
Slack is not opening on my system

snap run --strace slack

returns

error: signal: segmentation fault

slack 4.8.0 was installed using snap

Now Slack is working for me anyway.
Have Manjaro.
Installed without issues with snap.
