Significance of .info files in /run/snapd/ns/

I would like to know more about the importance of .info files found in /run/snapd/ns/ directory. These files are not always present but occur some times. Contents of all of these files is same: base-snap-name=core

I’m working on Ubuntu core 16 installed on Dell Edge Gateway. Please let me know if any other information is required.

Thanks in advance.

Hello

Those files contain certain information about the nature of the preserved mount namespace of each snap. Currently this only contains the name of the base snap used by the application snap. This information is then used to detect when one application revision contained different base than another and thus a base migration needs to be performed. When this happens the mount namespace is re-constructed from scratch.
