I might as well come clean directly: Yes, I signed up for this forum only so that I could post on the wishlist. I’m not proud of myself, but there it is…
Three years ago I installed Nextcloud as a Snap. It was dead easy and I’ve never had any issues with it.
Now, I’m thinking of moving off Nc and try Seafile instead. The application looks really interesting except for … no Snap version!
I gave the docker-compose a try and … well, after a week I’m still trying to get the damn thing off the ground.
Come on! Snap is Linux on easy-mode!
Bytheway Im a complete rooke, but “building” it as a snap was fairly easy with only these buildpackages in the yaml file:
build-packages:
- python3-pip
- python3-setuptools
- python3-dev
I think this does not mean a lot but you know the application, so you could go on from that…
Actually I don’t, I’m just curious to try it but I’m struggling with getting the Docker image to fly.
If I can’t get the Docker image to work, what hope do I have for snapping it myself?
