Screensharing from Slack snap

This doesn’t work right, it works like an old X app - full screen shares are all black screens. I know Slack is capable of Wayland sharing, the deb works (sort of, it does that annoying electron double prompt, but ultimately works).

I’ve searched and searched figuring someone else somewhere must be bothered by this, but I haven’t been able to find recent bug or thread to follow, only the old --enable-features=WebRTCPipeWireCapturer threads which don’t seem relevant anymore. The deb works without doing that, and it has no effect on the snap version.

Is there some connection I can add to the snap to make it work? Is it a problem with the snap that Slack needs to fix? or is it a overall snap problem Canonical needs to fix?

Every Ubuntu release I install it and check to see if it works yet, and continue to be let down.

You should report this to the slack bug tracker or whatever they use to collect user feedback…

Hehe so shout into the void, got it. I wish Canonical would reach out to these companies and offer them assistance to try and improve the snap ecosystem… I’ll just go back to the deb.

Slack will contact canonical (or even ask here on the forum) when they hit issues with implementing a fix …

The prob is, if you do not let them know about your problem, you take away any opportunity for them to fix it at all … How would they know about it when you do not tell them ?
