I thought setting the refresh.timer would also limit when pre-downloads were downloading, but it appears not. I don’t want huge downloads to eat up all my R/W and network speed when I’m working. It brings my system to a standstill.
Some relevant outputs:
snap get system refresh.timer
02:00-04:00
snap refresh --time
timer: 02:00-04:00
last: today at 13:47 EDT
next: tomorrow at 02:00 EDT
snap changes
ID Status Spawn Ready Summary
340 Done yesterday at 08:56 EDT yesterday at 08:56 EDT Pre-download "firefox" for auto-refresh
341 Done today at 13:47 EDT today at 13:48 EDT Pre-download "firefox" for auto-refresh
342 Done today at 13:47 EDT today at 13:48 EDT Auto-refresh snap "spotify"
Until I find a workaround, can I at least expect snap refresh --hold
to also prevent these pre-downloads?
You may also notice in the snap changes that the auto-refresh for spotify also did not obey the refresh.timer settings. I added a comment on the most relevant topic I could find:
but feel free to help me with this as well if you are so kind.
I need a way to keep my system usable during the day.
