I just found myself recommending to someone that they publish their alpha release in the beta channel, which seemed odd 
Would it be more accurate to call that channel ‘milestone’? So it would include alphas, betas, etc and still sound correct?
As long as we do not drop the name completely (there are surely plenty of scripts and tests out there that use --channel=beta for snap install or ubuntu-image calls)…
Could that be an alias (does the store support such a thing) ?
Yes, we’d preserve backward compatibility in some ways. I offer it up
only in the spirit of continuous improvement and refinement for future
