Rip CD in k3b

In the past I have used k3b to rip audio CDs. But now I cannot: the CD tracks list is sometimes read OK but when I command ripping to start I get a K3b error message saying the device (my external CD player/burner) cannot be accessed. I think I am using the correct settings e.g. Audio project, etc.

Alternatives to k3b: In the Brasero app I cannot see how to rip CDs. I have also installed the Terminal ripper abcde but although that lists the CD tracks there is no futher dialogue in the Terminal.

Can anyone please help me to get a working CD ripper? (I am not a geek so have only limited experience with the Terminal, etc.). I am using Ubuntu 24.04.

I tried ripping CDs in Windows, using Windows Media Player. It worked perfectly so there is not a hardware issue with my CD player/burner. I have just installed Sound-Juicer and my device WORKS with that! :slightly_smiling_face:
