Request: QGIS

I apologize if this is inappropriate, but having just installed Ubuntu 18.10 QGIS disappeared and cannot be reinstalled because of its dependenes.

A SNAP version would seem ideal, but I have no idea how much effort is involved or how long it would take, The old DEB files always lagged several versions behind. QGIS is a critical program for cartography, I have only a few weeks before I have to use it again, and will install and older Ubuntu to run it.

Any advise on likelihood for this please let me know so I can plan for contingencies.

Best of luck Greg

I opened a feature request for the exact same issue 10 months ago.

There even seems to be a QGIS snap yaml file but I guess nobody is worked on it since.

The good news is, like most apps, this one is available as a Flatpak too.

I’m truly sorry for snaps but the adoption of it doesn’t seem to go anywhere.

I would like QGIS as Snap too  but I think such complex software would be difficult to implement as snap would have to be someone who knows a lot about snap and QGIS.

This would be a very important snap. Count me in.
