Request for snap package: SourceGit

I’d like to request the creation of a Snap package for SourceGit, a lightweight and intuitive Git GUI built with GTK. It’s especially popular among developers who prefer a clean interface and native Linux experience.

Why SourceGit deserves a Snap:

  • Actively maintained and open-source
  • Lightweight and fast, ideal for users who want a simple Git client
  • Currently distributed via AppImage and source builds, but lacks Snap support.

A Snap would make SourceGit more accessible to users across distributions, especially those using Ubuntu-based systems. It would also simplify updates and sandboxing.

I have requested on the project repository but seems they don’t have the experience to build snaps

I created a version and uploaded it to a GitHub repository, but since it’s a classic Snap package, I assume it’s better for the developers themselves to publish it.
