I am working for the company behind HTTPie and we are trying to get back unofficial packages to ease upgrades from one source.
We already “own” httpie and https, and I checked with @chipaca about reclaiming Install HTTPie on Linux | Snap Store (I also send an official request, without answer so far).
We would like users to type snap install httpie and then http & https executable would be available. The current situation is that those commands are prefixed with httpie. which is not acceptable for us.
Is it possible to request http and https aliases then? Here is the snapcraft.yml file.
Another point that comes in mind: given you agreed for aliases, how does it work for users that already installed http?
The aliases will be updated when they are granted and so at some point when the user gets a snap refresh of the http snap (well really the assertions but that’s an implementation detail) they will also get the aliases added automatically
+1 from me too for http & https aliases since both well known commands of httpie - +2 votes for, 0 votes against. I was going to grant this in the store but I can’t see any existing revisions uploaded to the store - can you please upload one then I will look at granting the alias. Thanks.
I will do what is requested, of course. We are going to release a new version and would like to wait until it is officially public before doing anything on the Snap side. It is just a question of days.

OK, HTTPie 2.5.0 packages are in the review queue since yesterday, finally .
The first revision needs a manual review, I guess it will be picked at some point by a reviewer?
Granted auto-aliases for http and https for httpie. This is now live. However, the current revisions of httpie are stuck in the queue as they declare personal-files instances(s) and this requires a separate forum request to be reviewed by reviewers etc as per https://snapcraft.io/docs/process-for-aliases-auto-connections-and-tracks
