On new 24.04.1 install mpv snap does not install

on a fresh 24.04.1 install

snap install mpv

is stuck at Automatically connect eligible plugs and slots of snap “mpv”

(for minutes)

ctrl-c forcing the install to stop shows this:

  • Download snap “gnome-46-2404” (48) from channel “stable” (the download has been cancelled: context canceled)

there is no feedback, the install just stops. But is it doing something? How long to wait?

I had to wait … a long time, > 10 minutes. But it got there. I wish there was some feedback about what is going on during this time.
