Not able to boot into system mode selection menu (Ubuntu Core 22)

Hello there,

I am trying to factory reset an Ubuntu Core device running Ubuntu Core 22 with a custom gadget snap connecting to a Brand Store.

I am following the steps described here: https://ubuntu.com/core/docs/use-recovery-mode#heading--chooser

But the device always boots normally. I have tried:

  1. Powering up device and from beginning keep pressing 1 as fast as possible
  2. Powering up device and keeping 1 pressed

Neither seem to have any effect. Could it be I should try another key? Is this testable on QEMU?

Ok… It seems to work with ‘Escape’ rather than with ‘1’… Maybe the documentation should be updated?
