Manjaro snapd trying to install ubuntu-core

Hello There I’ve a Manjaro install, it uses an old /home partition from an earlier elementary install. after installing snapd, and doing snap install hello it fails at snap run hello saying: cannot locate core snap: no such file or directory I can’t figure out what to do, I’ve reinstalled a few times by now. I’ve run systemctl commands to check that snapd services are running, and everything looks alright to me there. any suggestions?
