KeepassXC blank text

keepassxc 2.3.4 39 stable keepassxreboot

Just installed keepassxc for the first time but when I start it I just get a window with buttons and no text

For reference I am on Debian 9.1 using Wayland Gnome.

snapd Version: 2.30-5+b1

Oddly enough the flatpak version does not have this issue.
