How to setup java 8 fo a snap app?

Hi all, I have a snap application (VLC 4) that needs open-jdk 8.

Seems that the jdk installed using apt is not recognized.

How can I install java in the snap app?

Hey,

You’ve set the JAVA_HOME and PATH environmental variables, and added the correct desktop extension? (ref. doc/java-applications)

There also seems to be an ongoing effort to snap VLC 4 on the latest/edge branch in the Snapcraft store here - which may be of some help if you need a pointer to make your own (assuming you are not part of the VLC group doing that snap). :slight_smile:
