You can install libpackagekit-glib from community repo and it should work.

cc @kenvandine gnome-software snap appears to be missing libraries.

Yeah, this is not ready for everyday use yet. The gnome-software snap is deprecated, there is a new snap-store snap in edge. We’re actively working on that snap now, should be ready for release soon.
