I’m using DigiKam 8.5.0 (from Snap Store) running on Ubuntu 22.04.05. It was running fine for a while but then since a couple of weeks I’m getting this error every time I launch DigiKam:
“ExifTool is not available in your digiKam installation or is not working correctly…
Error message: child process set up failed: execve: No such file or directory [00:08]”
I do have the ExifTool installed in my environment but I suspect this is a problem with the DigiKam snap because I believe this dependency should be embedded in the package.
Does anyone have an idea of what could be the issue and how to solve it?
I have the same issue with the DigiKam 8.5 snap on Ubuntu 24.04.3.
Using which exiftool in the terminal shows exiftool is installed in /usr/bin
In Digikam Settings->Configure Digikam->Metadata->Exiftool it shows it cannot find the exec for exiftool. When I click the “Find” button to input the location of exiftool Digikam crashes - every time.
Looks like its an issue with the snap but it’s not clear who maintains the snap. On snapstore it says its a KDE app but it doesn’t seem to be an official snap maintained by KDE
In the Snap Store / App Center in Ubuntu there are no report button or contact links.
