Disabling snapd removed snap directory

Let me start by saying I am pretty new to all of this.

So I was struggling with my connection to snap craft getting refused and decided to try restarting snapd. I couldn’t get it to restart so I disabled snapd, which seems to have removed snap directory entirely. Now the snap command cannot be found and the directory /usr/bin/snap cannot be found even tough I can find it when navigating to the bin folder. I cannot reinstall snap since the Ubuntu core does not use apt-get. I can see in the systemctl that the snapd.service is still active (though it still is getting a connection refused from snapcraft) but there is no snap.service. This leaves me unsure where to go from here
