Custom HAT for RPI; Would custom gadget snap make sense?

Hi,

We have built a custom HAT for Raspberry Pi. This is a HAT to accompany some custom IOT software we are working on.

We don’t have much experience with ubuntu core and snapcraft; So we are wondering if it would make sense to create our own gadget snap for our “combo” device (RPI + HAT).

This gadget snap would then also install our software (which will be in snap store, and automatically connect our app with services required for operation, like i2c). This latter part is the only reason I can think of to build our own gadget snap, so if there is another way to make your app auto-connect a specific service, that would also be good to know.
