Confinement ‘classic’ for muonssh snap

To make the review of your request easier, please use the following template to provide all the required details and also include any other information that may be relevant.

  • name: muon-ssh
  • description: Graphical SSH client with multiples tools
  • snapcraft: github: devlinx9/muon-ssh/blob/develop/snap/snapcraft.yaml
  • upstream: GitHub - devlinx9/muon-ssh: Graphical SFTP client and terminal emulator (SSH) with helpful utilities
  • upstream-relation: I’m owner and maintainer of the project
  • supported-category: terminal emulators, multiplexers and shells
  • reasoning: The new version of muon-ssh emulates the machine’s local terminal; under strict confinement, I can’t execute anything.

I understand that strict confinement is generally preferred over classic.

I’ve tried the [existing interfaces] to make the snap to work under strict confinement.

Note that snappy-debug can be used to identify possible required interfaces. See Debugging snaps | Snapcraft documentation for more information.

This request has been added to the queue for review by the @reviewers team.

muon-ssh fits under the category: terminal emulators, multiplexers and shells. The requirements for classic are understood (#approve). I will begin publisher vetting.

Could you please provide your github account associated with the upstream project.

Hello,

Thanks for the update, the github account is devlinx9: devlinx9 · GitHub

hi @devlinx9 - I just noticed the project is a fork. Are you a member of the official upstream?

Hi @cav,

No, I’m not a member of the original project. I contacted the main maintainer, but he didn’t respond, so I forked it and continued development. As you can see, the repository named ‘snowflake’ has been stale for over five years. Also, the first snap package was uploaded almost two years ago by myself.

Best regards

hi @devlinx9 - roger that, thanks for the info. This looks all good to me.
