I understand that strict confinement is generally preferred over classic.

I’ve tried the existing interfaces to make the snap to work under strict confinement.

Note that snappy-debug can be used to identify possible required interfaces. See https://snapcraft.io/docs/debug-snaps for more information.

Who told you that ? there are literally hundrets of electron snaps in the store and only a few have classic confinement (but due to other reasons, i.e. vscode is an IDE)

There is absolutely no reason for classic confinement for any electron app and you won’t get it granted unless your snap fits into one of the supported categories (which it does not) outlined in the requirements:

As @ogra mentioned, this snap does fall under any of the supported categories for classic (#reject)

@ogra @cav Snap has been built in the form it is now for the last 5 years Install coin on Linux | Snap Store Nothing has changed in the build system. Do you think it is a good decision to leave users without updates?

The snap you linked above is not a classic snap, it seems to be fully confined…

EDIT: and snap info agrees

ogra@anubis:~$ snap info --verbose coin | grep confinement:
  confinement: strict
ogra@anubis:~$

oops, why didn’t snap pass the automated reviews then?

You should have received an email with the error…

If you can not find it, there should also be info at dashboard.snapcraft.io when you click on the revision with the exclamation mark and scroll to the end of the page…

human review required due to detection of potentially harmful contents in snap metadata metadata-snap-v2_snap_metadata_redflag

It wasn’t easy to find… But now I don’t understand even more

What needs to be done to remove the red flag? What is the red flag anyway?

Manual review requested. AnalyzeReviewTask.on_manual_review: Automatic approval of upload 2385108 ignored for store ubuntu because of manual_review_policy: allow

I didn’t ask for a review…

What’s going on?

Snap metadata hasn’t been changed for the last 5 years, what went wrong?

We haven’t been able to release a new version for a month. New uploads on Snapcraft are stuck in endless review. Nobody replies, no comments, no progress at all.

Our account verification is also frozen. I don’t understand why Snapcraft makes publishing so difficult for developers.

Right now, the app version includes a critical fix, but we CANNOT release it quickly. I don’t know who to contact to unblock this situation.

@store team can you help out with this?
