Can a snap install another snap?

I would like to know if it’s possible for a snap to install another snap, as in my_snap installs gnome-3-26-1604 snap and then keeps going and install all the rest that’s on my snapcraft.yaml.

This way one wouldn’t have to ask a user to install another snap as it’s happening with corebird snap.

This might be redundant, as I understand it snapd is to grow the capability to auto-download the necessary platform snap. If I understand this post correctly.
