Call for testing: snapd 2.NNN
Upcoming release of snapd snap package has been uploaded to the candidate channel. We ask ask of everyone interested to TEST it by following the process outlined below. You can find the summary of the changes in the snapd 2.NNN release changelog.
Release schedule
You MUST provide feedback before DD of MM YYYY for it to be considered.
Installing candidate release
In general you MUST refresh or install snapd snap from the candidate channel with this command:
sudo snap refresh --edge snapd
You also MUST confirm that your system is using the new release. In some cases snapd does NOT re-execute into the updated version. You should run the command and confirm that you are using the desired candidate release 2.NNN.

Testing candidate release
Ideally run any kind of workloads you use normally use snapd or snaps with. You may create ad-hoc CI runs, run a playbook or do manual exploratory testing. If you find issues that cannot be reproduced on the stable release please provide feedback using suggestions below
Providing feedback
We encourage you to provide feedback here in the forum directly. You SHOULD provide feedback even if you found no issues. If you find issues please follow up by EITHER
- Filing an issue in launchpad snapd project.
- Filing an issue in Canonical-internal Jira on the SNAPDENG project.
In either case you MUST provide the link in the call-for-testing thread and MUST include the revision of snapd that you have tested and the CPU architecture. You can see the revision you are using with snap info snapd
.
