"Built, failed to release"

I am trying to release a new snap to your repos (automatic CD to (some) Linux distributions sounds great)
but, now that my snap is finally building, I get this message: “Built, failed to release”.

Note that my snap is under review (well it just failed because they want me to add a .desktop file but whatever)
so I am guessing that is the cause of the message, but:

  1. the build logs do not confirm that
  2. maybe it would be great to add some text explaining the cause of the message, instead of just me guessing and crossing my fingers
