Classic confinement was used to allow internal commands to run mounts on host system. Originally a couple of interfaces were tested, with no positive results.
Also, access to a configuration file set on host is required.

HI @dalguete, I’ve taken a look at your project. It appears to use fuse mounts, did you try the fuse-support interface when creating your confined snap?
