Auto-connection request for u2f-devices in Thunderbird

In order to allow usage of hardware keys for two factor authentication out of the box, I’d like to request the automatic connection of u2f-devices for Thunderbird.

For context, this has already been granted for Firefox and Chromium.

Downstream issue: Autoconnecting u2f-devices interface · Issue #48 · ubuntu/thunderbird · GitHub.

This request has not been added to the review queue. It should be placed in the appropriate store-requests subcategory using the subcategory template for classic-confinement, privileged-interfaces and aliases requests.

The bot reply seems to indicate this needs to be categorized, presumably into privileged-interfaces. Can you do that @nteodosio, or is it intended for it to wait here?

In any case, let me know if there’s anything Thunderbird devs can do to help move this along.

Hmm, it is in priviledged-interfaces, as per the header bar.

In any case, let me know if there’s anything Thunderbird devs can do to help move this along.

Thanks for offering help; I think at the moment we just need to wait for review.

Oh it had a typo, priviledged-interface (singular), now fixed.

I think this request is reasonable and makes a lot of sense
