Is it possible to auto-connect raw-usb
to the snap s4a
?
S4A - Scratch for Arduino is an IDE to program Arduino boards using Scratch.
The snap uses the raw-usb interface to upload firmware to arduino-compatible devices. The snap communicates with the boards using various /dev/tty*
devices such as /dev/ttyUSB0
.
The main target audience of consists of complete newbies without any programming skills, so it’d be a great plus if we could make the installation as easy as possible by auto-connecting it to raw-usb
.
Any update on this auto-connection request?
@jdstrand, @popey, any update on this? This has been sitting here for 25 days without any comments.
Have you tried using the serial-port interface with hotplug? hotplug was implemented specifically for dealing with situations like yours.
For future reference; the question is answered in this thread: Auto-connection request for `arduino-mhall` serial-port
The updated request is for both raw-usb and serial-port based on Auto-connection request for `arduino-mhall` serial-port
+1 to auto-connect serial-port (with greedy plugs) and raw-usb. @reviewers - can others vote on this?
