Approval needed to publish a snap that helps us set up udev rules, systemd services and network configs

To make the review of your request easier, please use the following template to provide all the required details and also include any other information that may be relevant.

  • name: farmsort-utils
  • description: a package to deploy utilities only used by our company for setting up and configuring our machines
  • snapcraft: farmsort-utils/snap/snapcraft.yaml at master · Theuns-Botha/farmsort-utils · GitHub
  • upstream: I am a new user and cannot post two links
  • upstream-relation: I work at the company Schmiede.ONE and I am experimenting with snap as a way to version/distribute software that is only for internal company use
  • supported-category: This is not clear to me, it seems to me, I do not think I need classic conferment, I just need the use of “system-files” approved
  • reasoning: The existing interfaces do seem to be sufficient, the store does not allow me to publish it though

I understand that strict confinement is generally preferred over classic.

I’ve tried the existing interfaces to make the snap to work under strict confinement.

Note that I have created this duplicate: System-files usage approval needed for internal company utilities package

I only noticed after creating the request that it was using a classic-confinement request template that is different from the restricted interfaces request template.

that is ok! Let’s use the other forum topic to handle this and I’ll remove this duplicate from our queue
