I enjoy the metrics on offer in the snap store pages, in particular the territory map. I find it absolutely (tongue in cheek) scandalous that the world map neglects a whole 14.3% of the world’s continents. Is there any chance Antarctica could get added to the map? It would fill me up with geek joy to know my snaps were being used there.
The data’s actually there, on the page, just hidden due to the forced 2:1 aspect ratio of the map. If you use your browser’s developer tools to find the svg
element inside js-snap-map
and increase the height
attribute, you’ll see Antarctica show up.
Comparing the core
and snapcraft
snaps shows that there’s even valid data – and that it seems to be difficult to build snaps in chilly environments.
In the Web & Design team we take this issue very seriously.
We are going to send a team of experts to investigate and negotiate with the penguin community and their ability to share their snap usage.
The ENTIRE world needs to know!
A bittersweet solution. I tweaked the height and saw a pale grey shape appear… but with 0 users. Ah well
I’m going to light up that continent just for you
That’s very kind of you.
