Is snap still the suggested or the preferred way to install Docker?
The snap version is not updating any more and missing some features.

The Docker Snap is still getting attention and maintenance in the candidate and beta channels but there’s definitely not a lot of activity in Launchpad.
It’s worth noting though that, although 18.09.x seems old it is still getting some support, as it is the version shipped in Ubuntu Bionic and also upstream in Debian Buster.
That said, I’m interested in this question too, and whether there are any plans to update to 19.03.x when the core20 base is stable for Snaps (since that is the Docker version shipping in 20.04).
Just noticed that 19.03.8 is available on beta channel \o/
